We have some really great prizes – the overall prize being a weekend for 2 at 5 Star B& B Craigrownie (visit their website:www.craigrowniehouse.co.za), a R1000 Harts Nursery Voucher and a Floating Trophy. We also have fantastic vouchers from Harts Nursery for all the catergory winners and an array of local businesses have sponsored everything from dinner for two to gardeners manicures, planting boxes, sun hats and . We will be featuring all our fantastic sponsors over the next few months.
There are 5 categoreis – 1 of which is pavement gardens and we hope to see some of our local businesses join in on this fun and creative category. Veg gardens will be interesting for all. We have included our townhouse and flat complexes both individually with a patio garden section and the overall complex gardens and then of course there is your average home garden. We called this one “traditional” for lack of a better title – and there was so hot debate around what the categories should be called – but we are hoping for entries that will challenge the terms traditional and average. We will be having loads of fun and posting photos over the next few months, as we explore the array of lovely gardens hidden behind our Harfield walls.
Prize giving will be on the 4th October, in Purley park, we will start a tour of some of the finalist gardens and finish with the prize giving, tea and cake.
All funds raised from the competition will go towards the Harfield Greening Fund – so don’t be shy, email us for an entry form or you can get a hard copy from the Norgarb offices or The Oggi Shop.
Who will be the first to enter?
